When people hear Western food, they automatically think of Texas and cowboys. Not always so. Western food is a word generally referred to the cuisines of Europe and Western countries, including Australia, which has one of the most diverse customs in the world. When it comes to the culinary field, the Land Down Under is very multicultural, bearing Western cooking and other influences.
Western food in Australia is very prevalent. As most in the nation’s history is founded on traditional British fare brought by the first British settlers, one can find steaks, hams, and more prevalent in the culinary scene.
Morning meals in Australia is similar to breakfast in various Western countries. A light meal generally consists of toast, fruits, and cereals, while a heavier breakfast is alike to a total English breakfast of sausage, hash browns, eggs, and bacon. For the beverages, it may include milk, juice, coffee, or tea.
Lunch and dinner in Australia is generally very Western-like. Although meals vary according to the household’s background, common selections include roast meat, pasta, pizza, casseroles, vegetables, and barbecue. Viewed outback food includes steaks, grilled rib-eye, and lamb chops among others.
For takeout foods, Australia has a wide selection of take-away snacks, just like any other Western nations. Fish and chips is a favorite snack that is associated with the country and other Western nations such as England and the U.S. Hamburgers, sausage rolls, meat pies, are typically ordered to be eaten outside an eatery.
Australia is also lush with American fast food chains, such as KFC, McDonald’s, Subway, and KFC.
There are foods that keep its Australian signature while viewed as Western at the same time, such as the favorite breakfast product Vegemite, a salty bread spread; pavlova cake and ANZAC biscuits; both of which are also being claimed as New Zealand creations; kangaroo meat; and meat pies.
As Australia, a former Western colony, is greatly shaped by its first British colonists back in the days, Western food in the country is pretty predominant. It is able to continue its native taste and iconic dishes even though its culinary scene is wrought by its settlers of various ancestries.

Computer Identity theft is a serious crime that is growing each year. If you’re a victim of identity theft you may spend months, even years, trying to repair a ruined credit history. A damaged credit report can compromise your chances of getting a new job, a bank loan, insurance or even housing rental. It is even possible to be arrested for a crime you did not commit if someone else has used your identity to break the law.
Unfortunately, many of the methods that thieves use to steal identities are beyond your control to guard against. Although it’s rare, even store clerks have been known to use their position to pass along information to identity thieves. There are measures you can take, that will make it more difficult for a thief to use your identity.
Protect Your Credit Card Number After It Has Been Swiped When Buying Items
Protect your credit card number after It has been swiped when making a purchase, check to make sure that the printed receipt hides all but the last 4 digits of your credit card account number (usually there will be Xs in place of the first 12 digits). Some terminals still print receipts that show all 16 digits of an account number, and may even include the expiration date as well. After your card is swiped, you’re permitted by law to hide the first 12 digits of your account number on the copy of the receipt that the vendor keeps. Use any marking pen that will do the job.
When you go to a restaurant, it’s especially important to make sure that the first 12 digits of your credit card number are hidden on your receipt. You are probable in the habit of signing it and then leaving the restaurant’s copy on the table after your dinner. An identity thief can take the signed receipt before the waiter comes back around to pick it up from the table.
Do You Need To Give Your Social Security Number?
One way that you can defend against identity theft is to not give out your social security number unless it is absolutely necessary. You need to provide your social security number when you apply for credit or for a bank account, sometimes an organization will want to use it as an ID number, simply to identify you within their system. This is a common practice even though the law says that social security numbers aren’t to be used as ID numbers. In these situations, use your judgment. There’s usually an alternative if you ask.
Destroy Documents That Contain Sensitive Personal Information
Buy a paper shredder and use it to shred documents you are throwing away which contain personal info such as credit card numbers, social security numbers, phone numbers and dates of birth. This is important to do both at home and at work. Identity thieves aren’t above going through someone’s trash to find valuable personal information that can help them obtain credit in your name.
If you do become a victim of computer identity theft, take the following steps at once. Notify your credit card companies, shut off your accounts immediately immediately and ask to have new cards issued to you. Place a fraud alert on your file with any one of the three major credit bureaus. The other two will be notified automatically. File a police report. You may need it to show to creditors as proof of the crime.

Writing a restaurant review is a fun way to share your thoughts and impressions about your dining experience. To write an informative review, you need to have knowledge about what key points you should include in your review. Not only is properly describing the food important, but you must have an understanding about the details of the restaurant. Once you have knowledge of the essential points to include, you then can present a well structured and organized restaurant review.
The following are a number of helpful tips to help you write a restaurant review:
1. Before you write a restaurant review, it is important to know how to structure the review. Make sure you are very descriptive and detailed. It is a personal review so emphasize your own writing style. Write complete sentences and use plenty of descriptive words and phrases. Write it in chronological order that includes from the moment you enter the restaurant to when you pay the bill and leave. Describe the restaurant in the present tense and in the second person. Using your own personality will help make the review unique.
2. Pick a restaurant you want to review. For example, you might choose Restaurants in Montreal. Or it might not even be a restaurant – it could be a cafe shop in Montreal. You want to make sure that there will be food that you like. When you enter the dining establishment, note such details as the interior appearance that includes the arrangement of tables, furnishings, decorations, colors, lighting, and the cleanliness of the restaurant. Make sure you check out the condition of the bathrooms. As well, make a note of the friendliest of the staff, how long you have to wait to be seated and its location, and if the hostess asks if you would like a beverage. When you are seated, make a note of the atmosphere of the restaurant. Is it friendly, extremely busy and loud, or relaxing?
3. Once you receive a menu, note the variety of meal choices, prices, any unique dishes, and if there are any healthy meal options. You should have an appetizer, entre, and dessert to get the full dining experience. When you receive the meal, note if the food is cooked properly. Does it have a distinctive taste such as spicy or sweet? What is the portion size? When you make your meal selection, make sure it something you normally enjoy eating, As well, note how you are treated by the servers. Are they friendly, well dressed, courteous, knowledgeable about the food and specials, and attentive? Make a note of the meal’s presentation, taste, smell, and if it is hot or cold. Make sure that you use descriptive and creative words. Suggest who may enjoy the food such as families or people who enjoy fine dining dishes. As well, note how long it takes to receive your bill.
When making your recommendation, make sure you have made a note of anything you disliked about the restaurant and the total cost of the meal and if you received good value for your money. When ending the review, make a statement about whether or not you would return. Writing a restaurant is more than just reviewing the food. By understanding the key elements that should be included in the review, you will have a fun restaurant review experience and hopefully provide valuable consumer information.

There is nothing worse than having a dining experience ruined by an obnoxious waiter. Even though certain behaviors are obviously inappropriate, some waiters in restaurants still do the most annoying things. Here are some dos and don’ts for waiters that will make eating out a better experience for everyone.
To begin with, you should never bother the patrons by standing around their tables when they are trying to eat. After the food has been served, wait a few minutes and then go check to make sure everything is satisfactory. Then leave them alone to eat in peace. If they need you for anything, they will try to get your attention. So keep an eye on everyone in case somebody is trying to get your attention.
Also, don’t pressure them into making a decision about ordering if they are not ready. If they say that they need a few minutes, actually give them a few minutes before you come back. Don’t come back in 1 minute with pen in hand. If they are not sure what they want, don’t roll your eyes or otherwise express annoyance. It really shouldn’t matter to you how long it takes them to order anyway.
Whenever a restaurant customer has a complaint, no matter what, tell them you are sorry for the inconvenience. Do this even if you did nothing wrong. Don’t argue with them or make excuses. Just tell them you will get the problem solved and then go do so. If you personally can’t fix things, get somebody who can.
Another important topic concerning waiters is removing plates. It is downright shocking how many waiters magically appear the moment a patron’s fork touches the last piece of food. Before they even have a chance to chew that final bite, the dishes are scooped up and whisked away. This can make the customer feel as though you have been counting down the seconds until they finished so that they can leave. Not good.
Something else to keep in mind about dishes is this: Never, ever take away one person’s plates is somebody else at the table is still eating. This is outrageously rude! This could make the person who is still eating feel uncomfortable or rushed into finishing his or her meal. The number of waiters who do this to customers is astounding. Please don’t be one of them.
Some other basics in don’ts are: don’t shout. Don’t point at a customer. Never touch a customer or any of their personal belongings. No gum chewing, fidgeting with your hair, arguing with other waiters within earshot of people eating and no cigarette smoking in sight of them. Do not yawn or act bored or tell the customers that you can’t wait until 9pm when you can go home. They don’t need to feel as though waiting on them is unpleasant for you. And seriously, don’t solicit tips or count them in front of the guests.
As for the things you should do: Do dress neatly and make sure your hair is combed. Always smile and be polite. Remember to thank them for coming, and say it so that it sounds true. Even if it’s not.

Learning about tasty Italian cheeses can be more involved than you think. Especially when you consider that there are about 400 of them. We’re all familiar with a few that we put on our pizzas and sandwiches, but most people are unaware of the wide variety of them that actually exist. I think it’s safe to say that the Italian cheeses are among the best in the world.
From Tuscany to Sicily, the Italians roll out the parmigiano, the provolone, and the Mozzarella. And these are just a drop in the bucket compared to the overall outlay of Italian cheeses. They make their cheeses with goat, sheep, cow, or buffalo milk. Their cheeses are great for shredding and have a fragrance and texture all their own.
The Italians take a lot of pride in their cheese quality. And if you go shopping for a quality Italian cheese, just look for the classifications on the label. These are the ‘PDO’, which means Protected Designation of Origin. And the other is IGT, which means the Protected Geographic Indication. This is known as their stamp of approval as far as quality assurance. Wine uses the same indicators.
When learning about tasty Italian cheeses, you’re sure to come across the famous ‘Bel Paese’ cheese. In Italian, this means ‘Beautiful Country’. This cheese has become one of the favorites of all time and one of the best known by people all around the world. It was first made near Milan in a place named ‘Melzo’. But it’s mostly made in Lombardy, with pasteurized cow’s milk. It’s meant to be used as a table cheese, but works very well in cooking.
The Italians really have a passion for their cheese making. From way up in the Alpine mountains, they have refined their processes, and brought them down to a world that loves what they’ve done. In the old days they would go to the mountains and practice their craft. They had to use caves to keep their cheeses cool, because refrigeration was a pretty new concept.
They use the same types of tools today as they did back then. After all, if it works, then don’t fix it. They use wooden shelves, salt, oil, water, cutting boards and small hammers. The three main ingredients that anyone needs in order to make a cheese, is salt, rennet, and milk. From here you can make all kinds of cheeses, and using different kinds of milk and processes, will produce different cheeses.
Milk is the beginning of all cheese making. Simply broken down, cheese is milk coagulated. Ricotta is a cheese that’s made with milk whey and cream. The Italians have four basic types of milk that they use, and they are buffalo, cow, sheep, and goat. But other cheeses may be made up of the milk of yaks, reindeer, or camels.
Italian cheeses are known worldwide, yet many Americans go about their lives enjoying the fruits of Italian labor, without ever learning about the processes or history behind them. It’s a very interesting subject for study. If you’d like to learn more about it, you’re only a few mouse-clicks away. The internet is loaded with information about the Italians and their wonderful cheese.

Historically leather chairs were in the sole purview of the rich and famous or perhaps hidden away in private men’s clubs, the types of clubs frequented politicians, doctors and powerful business men. Thankfully those days are gone. Nothing quite adds a splash of class quite like leather bar stools, and now these chairs are affordable to all.
Today leather bar stools are becoming more and more common. They can be found in very average commercial ventures and middle class homes. In many ways leather furniture makes a lot of sense. Not only are these bar stools comfortable but accidental spills can very often be taken care of with a damp cloth. Leather is also very durable which adds years to the lifespan of your bar stool. There are definitely more inexpensive leather bar stool made with inferior or B grade leather but bar stools made with Grade A or first quality leather can look good for years.
The stools available on the current market are either the standard 30″ or the shorter 24″ styles. The height of the stool chosen is determined by the height of the bar or perhaps table that is to be serviced by the stools. The best choice for children would be the shorter 24″ stool.
Leather bar stools come in every color of the rainbow. I have personally seen natural leather, dark tan, black, silver, green, white, brown and blue stools. Made to order bar stools can be developed in any color imaginable. The legs of these bar stool are generally stained a complimentary color. However they can also be painted. Stools with metal legs are also available but less common.
Cushioned stools are definitely more comfortable but you might find that they don’t wear as well. These stools also come in a leather sling version. You can find bar stools with backs, bar stools with backs and arms and barstools without backs. There is no right or better variety and it is all a matter of personal choice.
Leather bar stools are easy to clean and, with a little care, can last for decades. To protect your leather furniture you can spray a leather protector once per year. If you see some wear on the arms you might want to rub some protective oil on to the arms. Just make sure you wipe off any excess oil. You may have noticed that leather furniture of all types, including stools seem to look better as they age. Whether they be for residential or commercial purposes good quality leather bar stools are never a bad choice.
Go to Bar Stools to find out more, including leather covered bar stools.
